How To Find The Best Tapas in Barcelona

If there is one thing everyone wants to try while they are in Spain, it’s Tapas. I mean why wouldn’t you want to try it? If you find somewhere really good you are sure to have one of the best eating experiences on your travels. The question is.. how do you find the best tapas?

When I was in Barcelona I too was on the hunt for the tapas that would become a memorable food experience for me. It is made all the more difficult because in Barcelona, you are spoilt for choice with where to eat. But there was one tip that was given to me that made the search much easier. The trick to finding the best tapas in Barcelona is… find somewhere with a dirty floor.

As strange as this may sound there is some logic behind this tip. If you go to eat where there is a dirty floor that means that the food is fresh and getting turned over often and for a reason – its popular and good tapas. A clean floor could indicate (unless it’s a large establishment) that business is slow, the food is not as fresh, or that it’s not very good. Whether or not the level of cleanliness of a tapas bar correlates to how good the food is, I followed this simple tip and it worked for me. I succeeded in having the memorable food experience I was after.
